Ducksun Ahn graduated from Korea University Medical College in 1978 and received clinical training in Plastic Surgery at the University of Toronto. Upon his return to Korea, he created the Medical Education Department at Korea University Medical College. He also holds a Master’s degree in bioethics (Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium). As a former ECFMG fellow for international medical education at UCLA (University of California in Los Angeles), his main interest is in health professional education and regulation. He was the president of the Korean Society of Medical Education, the Association for Medical Education in the Western Pacific Region (AMEWPR), and the Korean Institute of Medical Education and Evaluation (accrediting body of Korea). Currently he is the vice-president of the World Federation for Medical Education, AMEE Ambassador, member of AMEE ASPIRE for student engagement panel, professor at the Department of Medical Humanities of Korea University Medical College, and professor at the Department of Plastic Surgery of Korea University Medical Center. Awarded for excellence in Teaching by Korea University, awarded for excellence in Research by Korea University and by Korean Society of Medical Education, awarded for the innovation in medical education by Korean Association of Medical Colleges. His current interests are medical education and medical regulations; accreditation and license.
